Tony Lombardozzi has been active on the Jazz scene since the 1970’s. He has performed extensively with some of the legends of jazz such as: Clark Terry, Kenny Baron, Bill Baron, Harold Danko, Art Davis, Don Friedman, Avery Sharp, Giacomo Gates, Ed Blackwell, Bill Watrous, Milt Hinton, Ernie Wilkins, Earl May, Ray Drummond, Brian Torff, Greg Bandy, Ali Ryerson, The Sonny Costanzo Orchestra, Ron McClure, James Newton, Grady Tate, Anthony Braxton, Richie Cole, Rufus Reid, Yoron Israel and Jay Hoggard.

Some of the venues that he has appeared at include the Detroit Jazz Festival, Syracuse Jazz Festival, International Festival of Arts and Ideas, The Hartford Jazz Festival, Lake GeDorge Jazz Festival, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, The Blue Note, The New Haven Jazz Festival, JVC Jazz Festival, Jazz at the Wharf, The Jazz Festival at Avery Point, Jazz at Lincoln Center and Jazz at the Pilot Pen Jazz. Since 1997 Tony has recorded and performed internationally with Jazz Vocalist Giacomo Gates. He can be heard on Giacomo Gates latest CD/DVD Luminosity on Double Dave Records.

Tony has also performed with legendary Jazz Guitarist’s Les Paul, Bucky Pizzarelli, Sal Salvador and Joe Puma and has been a member of orchestras that have accompanied such stars as: Sammy Davis Jr., Liza Minnelli, Mel Torme, Gladys Night, Lou Rawls and Ray Charles.

He has been on the Wesleyan University Music faculty since 1986 where he is the director of the Jazz Ensemble and the Jazz Guitar Instructor. He is also on the faculty at the Neighborhood Music School in New Haven, CT. and has participated and conducted Jazz Clinics and Master Classes at Yale University, Syracuse University, Berklee School of Music, New York University, and at The International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) in Toronto, Canada and New York City.
